Documentary Trailer, Music and Community Transformation (2014)

“I’ve come more and more to the realization about music, as an essential human right. And now I feel more and more convinced that the participation in music, not just the consumption of it, is an essential human right.” - André de Quadros

“Count Me In!” (2014)

The arts largely serve middle class interests in Western society and increasingly in the rest of the world. Recently, however, more attention has been paid to the potential contribution of the arts to a range of social change projects, particularly in public health, incarceration and conflict resolution.

The seminar focuses on the entitlement of the arts in a variety of settings in prisons, in conflict areas, and in urban poverty and will be illustrated through narratives, poetry, song, and visual art.

In a remarkably peaceful happening that transformed the hearts and minds of all who were there, Arab identity and community was created across political borders. This was the birth of Aswatuna: Arab Choral Initiative.
